 Festivals Fuengirola
Festivals Fuengirola - Festivals in Fuengirola Spain. The Mediterranean town of Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol is a great place to go for a holiday. Fuengirola offers stunning beaches, golf courses, dining options and leisure facilities, alongside a multitude of hotels and accommodation options. Easter week is celebrated in a bigger way in Fuengirola's surrounding territory (the autonomous region of Andalucia) than in the rest of the country. Neighbouring coastal towns compete with one another in terms of the size and grandeur of events. Festivities in Fuengirola are well worth visiting taking the simple form of various religious processions through the town streets. On July 15th-16th sailors honour their patroness La Virgen del Carmen. An effigy of the patroness is paraded through the streets of Los Boliches (Fuengirola's fishing district) and down to the marina. There she is set aboard a flower laden craft trailed by a flotilla of fishing boats. The evening culminates with lots dancing and singing, as well as fireworks. Every town or village in the surrounding land has its own summer feria or fair. Fuengirola's summer fair takes place from the 6th-12th of October in honour of the Virgen del Rosario (Virgin of the Rosary). Events are located in the town's streets with much eating, drinking, singing and dancing. There are processions with Spanish horses and countless people dressed up in authentic flamenco style. The evenings move towards the Recinto Ferial (public fairground) area on the fringes of the resort where there is a fair along with events, singing and dance shows. Events end with a spectacular firework display. Festivals Fuengirola - Festivals in Fuengirola Spain.
